Dear Time Trial Enthusiasts – welcome to the Northern Regions Time Trial Championship Registration Page.
The Championship will be organised as a sub-committee of the BMW Car Club of Gauteng, but will include members from other car clubs as well. BMW Car Club Gauteng has wide experience in organising time trial and racing events, and we will therefore utilize their knowledge and skill to arrange time trial events.
All types of cars will be allowed, road and race cars. Road cars will be allowed to have freedom to have certain performance enhancing modifications, more than one would think to be allowed, so that the drivers can really dedicate themselves to spend time and effort to get their cars to a proper track-use spec, and to be rewarded for their effort, with cars that will set quick lap times.
We plan to host at least 3 events this year, of which will include Zwartkops Raceway and Redstar Raceway. All competitors will also be entered into an overall Time-Trial Series points competition. All car-clubs are invited, the more clubs enter, the more exciting the inter-club competition will become.
Those who do not specifically want to compete, will still be able to join in the fun and drive timed-laps, in order to make use of the opportunity to hone their driving skills and explore their cars.
Instructors from the two clubs’ top drivers will be available to assist not-so-skilled-drivers who request assistance, to get to know the capabilities of their cars better, as well as the tracks.
It promises to be fun filled, clean and exciting times on the race-tracks.
Register your details here: https://forms.gle/1n5pDFcgghAN6tPR9
The event organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to applicants at their discretion.
The Draft Time Trial rules and regulations can also be downloaded from here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iXChHVVjxlXc4ELmAt0Aam5cswimzM5m/view?usp=share_link

About Perdeberg Celler.
Situated at the foothills of the Paardeberg Mountain in Paarl, one of the finest wine-growing areas of the Cape, you will find Perdeberg Cellar. The hallmark and most differentiating quality of Perdeberg wines is our predominant use of unirrigated vineyards, termed dry land vines. Overcoming difficult growing conditions, dry land vines yield small berries with concentrated flavour and colour which in turn create superior wines. The winery’s rich history that dates back to 1941, when a visionary wine farmer named Jan Rossouw suggested the area’s farmers begin producing their own wine. Perdeberg adopted its distinguishing name from the scores of Cape Mountain zebras that once roamed the Paardeberg area, mistaken for wild horses by local inhabitants.

Thereafter the dirt and tar groups will split.
Tar route via Olifantsnek, Derby, Koster, Lichtenburg, Ottoshoop, Zeerust (Suggestion to stop for lunch at a suitable spot) and then to Marico Oog.
This route will be tar up to the farm (Marico Oog) there will be a ‘twee spoor’ dirt section from the turnoff to our campsite of about 2 kms.

We will cover both tar and dirt on the route.
Charmaine will be following in a backup vehicle with bike trailer on the dirt route. The gravel road conditions this past weekend are considered to be fair with a few muddy spots, one that was quite difficult, but the rest all doable. We do suggest that anyone wishing to join should preferably have a level 2 off-road qualification or similar capability on dirt.

We will provide steak, wors, rolls and salad for a braai on Saturday evening, with eggs and bacon for breakfast on the Sunday Morning.
What should you bring: Dome tent, blow up mattress, sleeping gear, toiletries, snacks and drinks (snacks and drinks can go into the vehicle with Charmaine for the dirt riders) and a camping chair. Event Details
BMWMCC OFF-ROAD TRAINING DAYS: LEVELS 1, 2 & PILLION
March Training … Off Road training day 26th March 2023
The Level 1, 2 and pillion Off Road training is as per BMW standards.
We prefer and recommend riders to do Level 1 first and then move to Level 2. This way we know they have learned the basics. We recommend riders with a new bike to do a refresher of Level 1 or 2 depending on their riding abilities as each bike have its own bonding space and dynamics.
Only 1 level can be completed on a day.
What we will cover at the March Training Day?
-Theory about rider gear, safety, rider position, bike set-up, dynamics of the BMW bike, tyre pressures, etc
– Level 1: Explaining and adjusting the motorcycle, ABS de-activation, rider position, Off Road steering, cone riding, balancing, picking up the bike, leading the bike, slow riding, braking
– Level 2: Bike set-up, tyre pressures, rider position, cone riding, body position, off-camber riding and steering, stopping and pulling away against an incline, uphill & downhill riding, sharp turns, high speed braking on gravel, bike recovery and if the group’s progress is quick enough and all seems competent: sand riding, technical ride up a jeep track, gymkhana, sand and trail riding, etc.
Remember our rules still apply: you only do what you feel comfortable with. Come and have fun on that GS and challenge yourself.
We also cater for other brands. Feel free to invite your friend/s on his Yamaha Tenére, KTM, etc.
March Training venue:
We are fortunate to use the facilities at Anura Vineyards, Klapmuts, for most of our training days. Training venues will differ depending on the event.
Costs: (unless stated otherwise e.g., day rides)
Both Level 1 & 2 R600.00 per club member rider and R700.00 per non-club member riders.
Pillion/Rider training: R875.00 per couple club member and R975.00 per non-club member couples.
MEMBERS, PLEASE LOG IN FOR YOUR DISCOUNTED PRICE. THANK YOU.
Please scroll down and book your spot, which is confirmed with payment.

Event Details
Join us for a fun-filled morning at the state of the art BMW xDrive Park at Waterfall in Midrand for a combined skidpan and xDrive day. The BMW Car Club Gauteng will be hosting an event at the exemplary BMW xDrive Park. Entries are limited and a maximum of 40 participants can be accomodated. The day will be split into the two events – 20 participants in their own vehicles will complete the waterless skidpan for six runs (3 mirrored) with the best 5 times to count. The other 20 participants will be accompanied by a BMW Driving Experience instructor to drive BMW’s new BMW X3s on the xDrive track to showcase the vehicle’s offroad capabilities. Half way through the event, the participants will swop so that everyone gets to compete in both the skidpan and the xDrive experience. Entry fee is R400 per person for members and R500 for non-members. Booking and payment secures your spot.
Spectators can attend free of charge but will not be able to join in the off road drive. Parking is not available at the skidpan, however there is adequate parking 2 minutes away in the main car park at the xDrive offices. There is also no cover at the skidpan, so bring your umbrellas or apply your sunscreen. You can bring your own refreshments for the day, and there will be refreshments for sale at xDrive Park (cards only no cash)
All cars welcome – you do not need a 4×4 to enter.
